THE ARTIST

Influenced by the rich cultural history and Indigenous martial arts of the Philippines these pyrography designs reimagine traditional Filipino symbolism from across the archipelago into contemporary 21st century motifs. The entire weaponry collection including Kali sticks, long staff, palm sticks, swords, and knives are individually handcrafted each with a unique story.

Louella was born in Quezon City

Philippines and raised in Melbourne Australia. She completed a Bachelor of Arts with a focus on Art Histories

and Indigenous Cultures. She is a member of the Monash University Arnis Kalis Ilustrisimo Club, a student of Pekiti University, and a past student of Cacoy Doce Pares Melbourne and Philippine Combatives.

Founded in July 2017 the Art of Kali collection is a celebration of Indigenous Filipino culture and the promotion of Kali martial art to Filipinos as part of their cultural heritage.
